Structure of Government:

Executive: The President of the Republic is both the Chief of State and the Head of Government. The President of the Republic is directly elected by simple majority popular vote for a 5-year term (eligible for 2 more terms). The Prime Minister and members of the Government are appointed by the President.  

Legislative: Unicameral National Assembly. Members are elected for a 5-year term.

Judicial: The Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court are the highest courts.

Foreign policy: Seychelles is a member of UN, AU, FAO, WHO, IMF, ILO, WTO ( observer country), WIPO, UNHCR, WHO, UNESCO, IOM, UNIDO

Economic Data

GDP: 1,2 billion USD (IMF est. 2012)

Main economic resources: Tourism, coffee, cocoa, cotton, petroleum production and refining, aluminium production, etc

Major Trading Partners: France, United Kingdom, Italy, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Singapore, etc.
